The romance drama maintained its strength in the days that followed, providing a fierce challenge to the recent releases, such as Deva, starring Shahid Kapoor. The movie also made a respectable amount at the box office on Monday, earning between Rs 3 and Rs 3.25 crores. On the first Tuesday of its re-release, Sanam Teri Kasam brought in ₹2.80 Cr, according to Sumit Kadel. The overall revenue for the film is an astounding ₹21.75 Cr.

The movie is expected to break records in the days ahead, particularly on Valentine’s Day. Due to the film’s tremendous success, new concerts were added in a few cities starting on Monday. The directors of Sanam Teri Kasam have explained why they decided to hire Mawra Hocane, a Pakistani actress, in the lead role.

Directors Vinay Sapru and Radhika Rao clarified in an exclusive interview with IANS that Hocane’s ability to embody Saru’s character—rather than her nationality—was the only factor in the choice. The casting process, according to the directors, was centred on choosing the best candidate for the part, and Mawra was the ideal choice because of her performance and fit for the part.

Vinay Sapru also revealed that they had a concept of the novel as a cursed love story as they were composing it.He underlined that a film can only be successful if it creates a strong emotional bond with its viewers.

The director team said, “We are ecstatic to see one of our beloved films, Sanam Teri Kasam, make a historic return to the box office,” in reference to the movie’s re-release in theatres.”It has been an incredible adventure, and we are really appreciative of everyone who has helped make the movie possible. I firmly think the movie has at last gotten the credit it merits.”
