State Bank of India(SBI) contributed Rs 11crore towards the PM CARES fund to support the COVID-19 vaccination drive, it said on March 1.
SBI Chairman Dinesh Khara requested everyone to help in whatever way they can to support the vaccination drive. He said, “It is at times of adversity that the true form of unity is tested, and we all can take pride in the efforts that our nation has put in to fight the pandemic. The fight against the pandemic is not yet over, and as a responsible Corporate Citizen, we consider it our duty to support the government’s efforts to vaccinate all.”
SBI employees also contributed Rs 107 crores to the fund in 2020. SBI also donated 0.25 per cent of its annual profit to fight the pandemic with the supply of masks, sanitisers, and other necessities in 2020.
