‘Sharm karo’: Mohammed Shami slams ex-pakistan player over ‘cheating’ claims at Cricket World Cup

Days after legendary Pakistani cricketer Wasim Akram slammed Hasan Raza for his bizarre Indian bowlers given different balls’ comments, Indian bowler Mohammed Shami also slammed the former Pakistan player’s obnoxious allegations. After helping India qualify for the ICC World Cup semi-finals, senior bowler Shami came across a viral post about Raza, who had accused Team India of foul play at the ICC World Cup 2023.

Shami slammed Team India’s critics in his explosive statement, reminding them that the ICC World Cup is hosted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), not a local tournament in India. Shami further stated that former Pakistan captain Akram completely disagreed with Raza’s views.

The legendary Pakistani fast bowler dismissed Raza’s comments regarding the Indian team. “Don’t make fun of us in front of the world, please keep those insults to yourself,” Akram had stated on a Pakistani talk show.

Shami’s comments came after India secured the top spot in the ICC World Cup 2023 rankings with an easy win against second-placed South Africa. Former India captain Virat Kohli hit his 49th One Day International (ODI) century on his 35th birthday at Eden Gardens, matching Sachin Tendulkar’s record count of hundreds. India reached 326-5 in 50 overs thanks to Kohli’s 101-run innings. Shami took two key wickets for India in Kolkata, dismissing Rassie van der Dussen (13) and Aiden Markram (9) before Ravindra Jadeja’s five-wicket haul pushed South Africa to 83 in 27.1 overs.
