Shashank Khaitan resumes the shoot of ‘Mr Lele’

‘Mr Lele’ went under wraps when Vicky Kaushal and Bhumi Pednekar tested positive for contracting the virus. However, now that the entire cast and crew has been vaccinated, shooting has resumed with their first 40-day schedule of an indoor shoot.

Within weeks of commencing the shoot for filmmaker Shashank Khaitan’s upcoming, the entire shoot had to be wrapped up because Vicky Kaushal and Bhumi Pednekar both contracted the virus.

Post their Covid recovery, Shashank has planned indoor shoots for the entire cast at least for a while. The first schedule of the film will see Kiara Advani and Vicky Kaushal. Bhumi is to join the rest of the crew a few days later.

The decision of reshooting was taken only after the entire crew had received their first doses of the vaccine.

The director, Shashank has lined up a 40-day schedule for the cast and crew at a Bungalow in Andheri.

A source reveals that the originally the film was scripted keeping Varun Dhawan in mind, however, things didn’t work out for the actor. The new script has been tweaked to suit the new cast of the film.

The plot revolves around a man, Vicky Kaushal who juggles between two of his love interests.

The filmmakers had originally decided on ‘Mr Lele’ as the title of the film. However, the title has now been changed and is kept under unwraps for the time being.

Ashok Dubey, general secretary, Federation of Western India Cine Employees, confirms the development, adding, “Producers can resume shoots only after their crews are vaccinated.”
