Veteran actor Shekhar Suman has criticized YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia for his controversial remarks on the show India’s Got Latent, calling for a ban on the program. In a recent interview with Instant Bollywood, Shekhar expressed his disgust over a joke made by Ranveer during the show, which involved an inappropriate question about a contestant’s parents.
Shekhar did not hold back his anger, stating, “In a time when such obscene remarks are being made about parents, these individuals should be exiled from the country. They should not be allowed to return. They are crossing their limits in the name of a roast and misusing freedom of speech.”
He further emphasized that freedom of speech does not mean spreading vulgarity. “Freedom of speech does not give anyone the right to fill public platforms with abuses and filth that sicken the entire nation. I urge the government to permanently ban such shows and send these individuals far away,” he added.
The controversy erupted after Ranveer Allahbadia, also known as BeerBiceps, posed an offensive question to a contestant, asking, “Would you rather watch your parents… or join in once and stop it forever?” The remark sparked public outrage and led to a formal complaint against Ranveer, the show’s host Samay Raina, comedian Apoorva Mukhija, and the show’s organizers.
