SL vs IND 2021: Second T20I postponed as Krunal Pandya tests positive for COVID-19

The second T20 match between India and Sri Lanka starting at 8 pm on Tuesday has been postponed. This decision has been taken after Indian all-rounder Krunal Pandya was found to be Corona positive.

The second T20 match between India and Sri Lanka starting at 8 pm on Tuesday has been postponed. This decision has been taken after Indian all-rounder Krunal Pandya was found to be Corona positive. If all the other players and support staff of both the teams come negative, then this match can be played on Wednesday.

As per the reports, The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) official said that both the teams have been sent to isolation after Krunal tested positive. This isolation will continue till the reports of all the players come out.

The Indian team is on tour to Sri Lanka to play a series of three ODIs and the same number of T20 matches. Earlier, The ODI series was scheduled to begin on July 13. But, due to some members of the Sri Lankan team coming back positive, it got postponed and started from July 18. The three ODI matches were played on July 18, 20, and 23. The first T20 match was played on July 25. The second T20 match was scheduled to be played on July 27 and the third on July 29. Now the second match has been postponed. It will be decided only after the reports of the rest of the players whether the series will continue or postpone.

The Indian team had won the ODI series by 2-1. After this, India won the first T20 match by 38 runs and took a 1-0 lead.
