SS Rajamouli hails Dhurandhar: The Revenge as bigger and better; praises Ranveer Singh’s performance

S. S. Rajamouli has heaped praise on Dhurandhar: The Revenge, describing it as a significant step up from the first instalment while lauding its storytelling and technical brilliance. His remarks come as the action thriller continues its strong box office run, collecting between ₹240–269 crore globally within just two days of release.

Calling the sequel an upgrade in both scale and substance, Rajamouli highlighted how the film balances spectacle with emotion. He noted that while the film impresses with its grand visuals, writing, and world-building, it is the emotional depth that keeps the narrative grounded and engaging throughout.

The filmmaker also acknowledged director Aditya Dhar for taking the bold step of crafting a four-hour-long film, a decision he described as a risk that ultimately paid off. He praised the film’s casting, music, and technical execution, calling the overall presentation “flawless.”

Special mention was reserved for Ranveer Singh, who plays dual roles in the film. Rajamouli described his performance as a standout, pointing to an emotionally charged sequence involving his on-screen sister as a “masterclass in acting.” He added that Singh’s portrayal of both Hamza and Jaskirat keeps the audience invested from start to finish.

Rajamouli also commended R. Madhavan for effectively conveying the frustration and helplessness of a nation, making the character’s journey resonate deeply with viewers. Concluding his note, he congratulated the entire team for delivering what he called a “resounding success.”
