Ghatak, starring Sunny Deol, will be re-released in cinemas on March 21. The announcement was posted on the Red Lorry Film Festival’s official Instagram page on Monday.
Red Lorry pictures shared the news on their Instagram, “Brace yourself for the return of a cult classic! GHATAK is hitting the big screen once again at the Red Lorry Film Festival. Relive the action on 21st March 2025 on the big screen!”
Last year, Sunny celebrated the 28th anniversary of the release of his beloved action movie Ghatak, which was released during Diwali in 1996 and is still a fan favourite due to its compelling plot, strong performances, and memorable dialogue. The Gadar actor took to Instagram to share a nostalgic video of some of the film’s best scenes and dialogues, and he also took a moment to remember the late legendary actor Amrish Puri, who played the role of Kashi Nath, a feared crime lord in the film.
Ghatak was directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and featured Danny Denzongpa and Meenakshi Seshadri in key roles. The film was a huge hit when it came out in 1996, and Sunny’s scathing remarks are still remembered.
