The 66th Grammy Awards on Sunday night were packed with unforgettable moments, but one of them sparked criticism online. Many fans believed that Taylor Swift, who received the Album of the Year title for her 2022 album Midnights, did not recognize or greet Celine Dion, who presented her with the trophy, and acted like a “trophy presenter model”.
Taylor Swift just took the album of the year trophy from Celine Dion without batting an eye and/or acknowledging that a legendary đ was handing her the award. So cringey for my soul đ« pic.twitter.com/J7LggDVQD8

Dion, one of the best-selling female artists in music history, made a surprise appearance at the ceremony after being out of the spotlight for some years.
Many individuals reacted to the video and slammed Taylor. Some called her “rude,” “cringey,” and “disrespectful” for ignoring Dion, whom they regarded as a legend and an inspiration. They also compared Swift’s behaviour to that of other musicians who showed greater appreciation and respect for the presenters, such as Olivia Rodrigo, who hugged and thanked Jennifer Lopez, and Billie Eilish who commended Megan Thee Stallion.
Not everyone, however, agreed that Swift purposefully ignored Dion. Some of her fans defended her, claiming that she was too overwhelmed and emotional to notice Dion, or that she refused to hug her because of the pandemic. They also mentioned that Swift and Dion had a lovely moment backstage, where they hugged and smiled for the cameras.
