On Thursday, the much-anticipated trailer for Zoya Akhtar’s Netflix film The Archies was dropped, including all of the film’s lead actors, including Agastya Nanda, Suhana Khan and Khushi Kapoor. The Archies teaser offers the best look yet at the coming-of-age movie based on the popular Archie Comics, from a glimpse inside life at Riverdale to the love affairs of its ensemble cast.
The Archies is a teenage musical movie based on the same-named American comic book series. It is helmed by Zoya Akhtar and produced by Tiger Baby Productions. Set in 1960s India, Archie and the gang navigate romance, friendship and Riverdale’s future as developers threaten to demolish a beloved park.
Archie Andrews will be played by Agastya Nanda, Betty Cooper by Khushi Kapoor and Veronica Lodge by Suhana Khan. The movie also stars Vedang Raina as Reggie Mantle, Mihir Ahuja as Jughead Jones, Dot as Ethel Muggs, and Yuvraj Menda as Dilton Doiley and is scheduled to be released on December 7, this year.
The Archies is one of the year’s most awaited movies. Most of the lead actors mark their Bollywood debuts, including Gauri Khan and Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan, late Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s daughter Khushi Kapoor, and Jaya and Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda.
