Todd Greenberg has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of Cricket Australia (CA), succeeding Nick Hockley, who will step down at the end of the summer. Greenberg, currently the CEO of the Australian Cricketers’ Association and former CEO of the National Rugby League (NRL), was a leading contender for the position.
With a strong background in sports administration and significant experience in managing broadcast partnerships, sponsors, and live events, Greenberg brings a wealth of expertise to the role. He is well-regarded for his relationships with players, stemming from his current position and his experience as a first-grade cricketer in New South Wales.
Greenberg played a pivotal role in the most recent Memorandum of Understanding between CA and the ACA and was instrumental in Australia’s historic tour of Pakistan in 2022, marking the country’s return to international cricket there after 24 years.
CA Chairman Mike Baird expressed enthusiasm about Greenberg’s appointment, highlighting his commercial acumen and passion for cricket. “Todd’s leadership in the NRL and ACA demonstrates his ability to drive growth and innovation. His vision aligns with our ambitions for the future of Australian cricket,” Baird said.
In response, Greenberg expressed his excitement about taking on the new role during a transformative period for cricket. “This is a thrilling time for the sport globally. My focus will be on ensuring Australian cricket maintains its position at the forefront while building on the strong foundations laid by the current administration,” he said.
