Tom Cruise to star in Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s next film at Warner Bros. and Legendary

Tom Cruise, a Hollywood star, will star in a collaboration with famous director Alejandro G. Iñárritu. The anticipated film, which is reportedly being developed by Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures, has already sparked significant interest among moviegoers and industry insiders.

The forthcoming movie’s story is yet unknown, but according to Deadline, there are rumours that Warner Bros. and Legendary are in talks about acquiring the project. This is Iñárritu’s first English-language film since the critically acclaimed The Revenant (2015), which starred Leonardo DiCaprio, nearly a decade ago.

Tom Cruise, who just signed a deal with Warner Bros. Discovery to make original and franchise films in 2024, looks to be in a good spot. Iñárritu wrote the script in 2023 with Sabina Berman, Alexander Dinelaris and Nicolas Giacobone.

Dinelaris and Giacobone, who previously worked together on the script for Iñárritu’s critically acclaimed 2014 film Birdman, would reunite if the movie comes into action. The film, starring Michael Keaton, previously won the Academy Award for Best Picture.

Cruise is presently working with Doug Liman on a highly anticipated space project for Universal in addition to filming the next Mission movie. While the Iñárritu film’s genre is yet unclear, Cruise’s involvement appears to be a change of pace for the actor, who is most renowned for his high-octane roles in films like Mission: Impossible and Top Gun: Maverick.
