Tu Yaa Main records 35% decline on Monday, collects rs 40 lakh

Tu Yaa Main, which stars Adarsh Gourav and Shanaya Kapoor, is suffering at the box office. The creature/horror survival thriller fell 35% on its debut Monday over Friday, adding Rs. 40 lakh to the total. This raises its four-day total to Rs. 3.25 crore nett at the Indian box office. Though the Monday decline was normal, the total is extremely low.

Such films with no star value rely significantly on word-of-mouth and audience support, which the survival thriller lacks, resulting in a poor theatrical run. Furthermore, the Adarsh Gourav film has a remake tag, which could be one of the reasons why people aren’t really enthused.

Furthermore, the 8-week OTT window is harming the profitability of small/medium-sized films because they do not have a long run in theatres. The audience, too, is patient enough to wait two months for a film on digital screens. The creators must break this patience by extending the OTT window to roughly 6 months. Tu Yaa Main is a survival story about a young modern couple who face a deadly beast.

The film is directed by Bejoy Nambiar, who has previously directed Wazir (2016), Taish (2020), and Dange (2024) in Hindi. In terms of business, his track record remained quite poor. It’ll be interesting to watch how his latest directorial effort does at the box office.
