Twitter’s rival app Threads by Facebook owner Meta to launch on Thursday; Elon Musk reacts

Facebook owner Meta is launching its new app, Threads, as a rival to Twitter and reports have it that the app will go live on Thursday.

The app, which is called Threads is available on the Apple App Store for pre-order, will be linked to Instagram.

Screengrabs surfacing on the internet shows the app having its dashboard similar to that of Twitter. Meta describes Threads as ‘text based conversation app’.

The move is the latest in the rivalry between Meta head Mark Zuckerberg and Twitter owner Elon Musk.

Apart from their online rivalry, the duo have agreed to a physical fight. However, it is still unclear how serious were those two men were.

Reacting to a tweet about Threads, Musk wrote, “Thank goodness they’re so sanely run” in fresh dig Zuckerberg.

Meanwhile, Twitter has said that the popular user dashboard, TweetDeck will go behind a paywall in 30 days time. This is because Musk has been pushing the users to subscribe to Twitter’s subscription service Twitter Blue.

Recently, Musk announced that in order to deal with extreme data scrapping, Twitter users will be allowed to view a limited number of posts in a day.
