Uber has rolled out Pune Metro ticket booking on its app, making Pune the fifth Indian city to get the feature after Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai.
The integration, enabled through ONDC, allows commuters to buy QR-based metro tickets directly within the Uber app using UPI payments. Users can also combine metro rides with Uber’s Auto, Bike and Go services for last-mile connectivity.
The company said commuters booking metro tickets through Uber will receive a 50% discount of up to ₹10 for a limited time.
Uber said more than 10 million metro rides have already been booked through its platform across India.
Neha Kapoor, Head – Strategic Initiatives, Uber India & South Asia, said, “Metro ticketing on Uber is making everyday commuting simpler by bringing public transit and last-mile mobility together in one place.”
Shri Shravan Hardikar (IAS), Managing Director of Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation, said the integration would improve commuter convenience and encourage greater adoption of public transport.
