Nationalist Congress Party’s Ajit Pawar, on Sunday, took oath as Deputy Chief Minister at Raj Bhavan. It has also been reported that the decision comes in after Pawar held a meeting with senior legislatives of the party at his residence.
Reacting to the same, NCP’s chief Sharad Pawar stated that he did not know about the meeting, but Ajit being the Leader of Opposition (LoP), he had the right to call a meeting of MLAs.
Sharad Pawar, who is currently lodged in Pune, made the statement amid the rebellion in his party led by nephew Ajit Pawar.
In shocking turn of event, Ajit has shook hands with Eknath Shinde-led Maharashtra government. He will share the post with Devendra Fadnavis.
Apart from Pawar, a total of nine NCP leaders including Chhagan Bhujbal, Dhananjay Munder, Dilip Walse Patil, among others has sworn in as Ministers. Senior leader Praful Patel was also present at the venue.
