Uttar Pradesh: PM Modi to lay the foundation stone of international airport at Jewar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the Jewar International airport in Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh on Thursday

After inaugurating the Kushinagar international airport on October 20, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will now inaugurate the Jewar International Airport on Thursday.

On completion, this will be the fifth international airport in Uttar Pradesh and the second International Airport in Delhi-NCR after Indira Gandhi International Airport. An international airport is also under construction in Ayodhya.

The Jewar International Airport will assist the people of Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Agra, Faridabad and the neighbouring regions. Having passenger terminals with 70 million potential, 186 airport stands, a cargo terminal with one million tonne capacity, the airport will be connected by the Yamuna Expressway, Western Peripheral Expressway, Eastern Peripheral Expressway, Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, Noida Metro and formulated 800 km long high-speed Delhi-Varanasi rail line.

According to administrators, all preparations have been made for the November 25 event with a huge tent covering a region of over 12 lakh square feet.

The Prime Minister will also express a rally on this occasion.

Over 2.5 lakh people are anticipated to attend the event. Apart from the big tent and stage, an inn for the Prime Minister, a helipad and asphalt roads to the venue has also been set up.
