Tanuja, a veteran Bollywood actress, was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai on Sunday evening due to age-related issues.
According to a source, the 80-year-old actress is in the ICU of a Juhu hospital. “She is under observation. She is doing well. There’s nothing to worry about,” the source told PTI.
Tanuja, a well-known actor, has appeared in various Hindi and Bengali films. She is the daughter of yesteryear star Shobhna Samarth and producer Kumarsen Samarth. She is Nutan’s sister and the mother of famous actress Kajol.
She began her film career as a child actor with her elder sister Nutan in Hamari Beti (1950). Her debut film as a leading actress was Hamari Yaad Aayegi (1961). She later appeared in films like Baharein Phir Bhi Ayengi (1966), Jewel Thief (1969), Paisa Ya Pyaar (1969), Haathi Mere Saathi (1971) and Mere Jeevan Sathi (1972).
She appeared in numerous Bengali films, including Deya Neya (1963), Anthony-Firingee (1967), Teen Bhuvaner Parey (1969), and Rajkumari (1970).
