Actor Vineet Kumar Singh recently shared an interesting revelation about the 2019 film Luka Chuppi. In an interview with Digital Commentary, he disclosed that he was initially offered the lead role, which was later played by Kartik Aaryan.
Vineet explained that a friend, who was involved in writing the film, gave him the script. However, he assumed it was for feedback rather than an actual role offer. “There was a Laxman Utekar film, written by a friend of mine. He gave me the script, but I thought he just wanted my opinion. Since I took some time to respond, they thought I wasn’t interested,” Vineet said.
Later, when he spoke to director Laxman Utekar, he realized that they had actually wanted to cast him in the film. “It was my bad luck. I mistook it for a casual script-sharing moment, as I often discuss stories with writer friends. Due to this misunderstanding, I missed the opportunity,” he added.
The film, originally titled Mathura Lives, was eventually renamed Luka Chuppi and starred Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon. Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan, the film revolves around a couple who decide to live together before marriage but end up lying to their families about their relationship status. Despite missing out on the role, Vineet holds no grudges and looks forward to new opportunities in his career.
