Reinforcing India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision in defence, the Vikram VT 21 advanced armoured platform has entered field trials following its flag-off in Pune.
The platform, developed under a collaborative framework involving DRDO’s VRDE, Bharat Forge Limited, Tata Advanced Systems Limited, and MSMEs, highlights India’s growing capability in indigenous defence production.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Samir. V. Kamat noted that this project is testament to the effectiveness of the Development Cum Production Partner (DCPP) model, in bringing together DRDO’s expertise and industry partners’ scale, to leapfrog platform design and development.
Developed in under three years, the platform reflects the success of integrated design and manufacturing efforts within India’s defence ecosystem.
