Shilpa Shetty Kundra, an Indian actress best known for her performances in Hindi and Telugu movies, was born on June 8, 1975. After making her acting debut in the 1993 thriller Baazigar, which earned her two Filmfare Award nominations, Shetty had a dual part in the 1994 action comedy Main Khiladi Tu Anari.
With the turn of 2000, Shetty’s career saw a comeback as a main actress with the romantic drama Dhadkan, signalling a turning point in her career. After that, she played in Indian and Rishtey, which brought her recognition and another nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Filmfare film. Shetty won praise from critics for her portrayal of an AIDS-stricken businesswoman in the social drama Phir Milenge, for which she was nominated for a Filmfare Award for Best Actress. She then made appearances in popular movies such as the 2005 action thriller Dus, the ensemble drama Life in a Metro, for which she won plaudits from critics, and the sports drama Apne. She was praised for her dancing in the song “Shut Up & Bounce” as well.
She made her reality television debut in 2006 by serving as a judge on the dance competition Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. Shetty began participating in the fifth season of the British reality series Celebrity Big Brother in early 2007. Shetty gained a lot of attention from the worldwide media during her time in the house for both the prejudice she experienced from the other candidates and for finally winning the competition. She then hosted the second season of the reality competition Bigg Boss. Since then, Shetty has been as a judge on a number of Indian dance reality programmes, including Zara Nachke Dikha (2010), Nach Baliye (2012–20), and Super Dancer (2016–present).

During her sabbatical, Shetty only made one on-screen appearance, in the song “Tu Mere Type Ka Nahi Hai” from the 2014 movie Dishkiyaoon. After 14 years, she returned to the big screen with the critically panned 2021 movie Hungama 2.
The following movie Shetty will be in with Shirley Setia and Abhimanyu Dassani is Nikamma. Also, she will star as the leading lady in Amit Sadh’s next film Sukhee, which focuses on women. As the first female police officer in Rohit Shetty’s cop world, Shetty will make her web debut with the series “Indian Police Force.” She’ll be in the movie with Sidharth Malhotra.
