Barcelona coach Xavi responded in a surprising way when asked about the possibility of Neymar rejoining the Camp Nou-based club. Neymar has reportedly stated that he intends to play for Paris Saint-Germain next season and the Brazilian superstar’s father has lately denied rumours that the player had informed the PSG hierarchy of his desire to leave the club.
Xavi has been frequently questioned about whether Barcelona intends to bring back Neymar during the present summer season and after the Catalans beat Tottenham 4-2 in the Joan Gamer Trophy, the Spaniard had an interesting response as he remained coy on the links.
“Neymar? I can’t say anything, he is on another team. But the transfer window is open until the end of the month, I can’t say anything,” Xavi said (via Barca Universal).
Lately, the French publication L’Equipe mentioned that the 31-year-old wanted to return to Barcelona, but Neymar’s father dismissed the rumours as “fake news.”
Chelsea were one of the clubs interested in signing Neymar, but recent reports claim that the Blues have no plans to do so. If Neymar does leave PSG, his preferred destination would be Barcelona, or Suadi Pro League club Al Hilal, along with one of the Major League Soccer clubs.
