Aamir Khan is gearing up to return to the big screen after three years with his much-awaited film Sitaare Zameen Par, directed by RS Prasanna. According to sources, the sports drama will release in June 2025, with the official announcement expected on Aamir’s 60th birthday on March 14.
A source revealed to Pinkvilla, “Aamir has been passionately working on Sitaare Zameen Par for over a year and is confident that the film will win over the audience.” The source further added that the marketing campaign for the film will kick off during the IPL season, and the teaser and trailer are currently in progress as Aamir wants to deliver a heartwarming and impactful message.
In Sitaare Zameen Par, Aamir Khan plays the role of a drunkard coach who trains a team of specially-abled children for the Paralympics. The film also stars Genelia Deshmukh in a significant role.
Aamir, known for delivering memorable films like Taare Zameen Par, 3 Idiots, PK, and Dangal, aims to strike an emotional chord with this new venture. Sources suggest that apart from Sitaare Zameen Par, Aamir is also considering several new projects, which he may finalize by Summer 2025.
