On Sunday, Rahul Arunoday Banerjee died unexpectedly, leaving Tollywood in shock. The 43-year-old actor is said to have drowned at Talsari sea beach near Digha while filming for his current television series.
According to accounts, Rahul stepped into the water during the shot where the event occurred. After he went under and did not resurface for a while, unit members and technicians rushed to his rescue. He was immediately brought to a hospital in Digha, but according to sources, he was pronounced dead before arriving.
Rahul was apparently submerged for several minutes before technicians noticed his absence and went hunting for him. A post-mortem examination is scheduled at Digha Hospital.
