Angelina Jolie And Brad Pitt Reach Divorce Settlement, Actress Says She’s ‘Exhausted’ But ‘Relieved’

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have officially finalized their divorce after an eight-year legal battle, bringing a sense of relief to the Maleficent actress. A source told People magazine that Jolie is “exhausted but relieved” that this chapter is finally closed.

On December 30, her attorney, James Simon, issued a statement emphasizing that Jolie had filed for divorce in 2016 and that their children—Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne—had since distanced themselves from Pitt’s properties. The statement noted that Jolie has spent years prioritizing “peace and healing for their family.”

However, while their divorce is settled, another legal dispute looms over them—the ongoing battle over Château Miraval, the French winery they once co-owned. In 2022, Pitt sued Jolie for selling her stake to Tenute del Mondo, a subsidiary of the Stoli Group, without his consent.

Jolie, in response, alleged that Pitt had initially wanted to sell the winery himself and that he had pressured her to sign a restrictive non-disclosure agreement, which she claimed would have prevented her from speaking about alleged “abuse” in their relationship. Pitt has denied these allegations.

Recently, Pitt secured a legal victory in the case, but sources close to Jolie insist that he could end the feud for the sake of their family. “He has the ability to do the right thing, drop the lawsuit, and focus on healing their family; he has made it clear he has no plans to do so,” a source claimed. Meanwhile, those close to Pitt argue that Jolie is making the case “personal” in an effort to cause him harm.

While their divorce is behind them, the legal battle over Château Miraval suggests their courtroom disputes are far from over.
