Angry Ola customer puts showroom on fire after repeated complaints of his e-scooter purchased 20 days ago

On Tuesday, a 26-year-old man was detained in Karnataka after it was claimed that he set fire to an Ola Electric store because he wasn’t happy with how his just purchased e-scooter was being serviced. It has raised questions about Ola Electric’s, India’s top e-scooter maker, service quality.

Mohammad Nadeem, a mechanic by trade, reportedly purchased an Ola scooter from the dealership 20 days ago, but it started to have problems. Nadeem frequently took the car to the showroom in Kalaburagi, which is roughly 570 km from Bengaluru, for servicing after it started to have problems. The police commissioner of Kalaburagi stated that Nadeem “went multiple times” but was not happy with the response. He allegedly took petrol to the showroom on Tuesday and lit six bikes on fire. An estimated Rs 850,000 worth of damage was inflicted by the incident, yet no injuries were recorded.

Two weeks have passed after an Ola showroom in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, caught fire. Ola did not want to comment.
