Angry Protesters Target Allu Arjun Over Stampede Death at Film Screening

Hyderabad witnessed a tense situation as individuals claiming affiliation with the Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OUJAC) trespassed onto Telugu actor Allu Arjun’s Jubilee Hills residence on Sunday. The group vandalized plants, hurled tomatoes, and shouted slogans, condemning the actor for his alleged role in a stampede incident during a screening of his film Pushpa 2: The Rule.

The protest stems from the death of a woman named Revathi, who tragically lost her life in a stampede at Sandhya Theatre on December 4, when fans rushed to catch a glimpse of Allu Arjun. Despite police denying permission for the event due to crowd management concerns, the actor attended the screening and interacted with fans. Videos showed him waving from his car’s sunroof, which reportedly exacerbated the situation.

The protesters demanded justice for Revathi and held the actor accountable for the chaos. Police promptly detained the intruders, restoring order at the premises.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy criticized Allu Arjun for disregarding police instructions and attending the event. Addressing AIMIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi’s query in the Assembly, Reddy cited security concerns raised by the theatre management, who had sought police support ahead of the event. The request was denied due to crowd control challenges.
