Ariana Grande said this while accepting Rising Star Honor At Palm Springs International Film Festival

Ariana Grande is someone who always speaks from the heart, no matter where she is or what the occasion is. She proved this once again when she delivered an emotional speech while accepting the Rising Star Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. The award was presented to her by none other than Jennifer Coolidge, which made the moment even more special.

During the event on January 4th, Coolidge joked before handing the award to Grande, saying, “Hasn’t Ariana already risen?” In her speech, Ariana expressed deep gratitude to Coolidge, thanking her for coming all the way to present the award and for supporting her. She admitted that she couldn’t fully put into words what it meant to her to be honored by someone she has admired for so long. Ariana referred to Jennifer as a “comedic genius” and shared how much her brilliance had inspired her throughout her life. She ended with, “I love you,” and thanked Coolidge once again.

Ariana also couldn’t help but laugh at the irony of receiving the Rising Star Award at this stage in her career, after having been in the industry for so many years. She jokingly said that, as a child performer, she never imagined that at 31 years old, she’d still be hearing the words “rising star.” She added a humorous twist to the moment by thanking her “good friends Botox and Juvéderm,” saying that she expected to hear titles like “slightly withering star” or “drooping star” instead!

In the same speech, Ariana reflected on her time working on Wicked, where she played Glinda the Good Witch. She said that playing the role was not only the greatest honor of her life but also felt like a “homecoming,” a return to something that felt deeply personal to her.

She then shared a fun fact about her beginnings, revealing that her first experience in the entertainment world was actually through stand-up comedy. At just 4 years old, Ariana would perform for her grandparents in her living room in Boca Raton, earning $5 from her mom for the show. She also shared that this early exposure to comedy taught her that laughter is one of life’s greatest escapes. Not only did it bring joy to those around her, but it also gave her something special in return.

Ariana reflected on how, over the past decade, her focus had primarily been on music, and in doing so, she missed the joy of laughter. Now, as she embarks on this new chapter of her career, it feels like a fresh start, full of excitement and possibilities.
