Australian fast bowler Aaron Summers charged for child sexual abuse

The Australian seamer has been charged for possessing child abuse and grooming a child.

Australian seamer Aaron Summers has appeared in Darwin Local Court after the fast bowler was charged with child sexual abuse. Summers has been filed under the charge of possessing child abuse material and grooming a child.

The Australian seamer was arrested on Friday afternoon from Fannie Bay by the local police following a search warrant and seizing the accused cell phone. The contained phone consisted of several child abuse videos and enough evidence of abusing up to ten children in an “attempt to procure further illicit photographs”.

“The behaviour is despicable. Young people should be able to enjoy their childhood without the fear of predators approaching them for their own appalling intentions. The Northern Territory Joint Anti-Child Exploitation Team will continue to work with national and international partners to keep the most vulnerable in our community safe.” said detective acting senior sergeant Paul Lawson.

Summers had a favourable brief career in domestic cricket and Big Bash League. He represented Hobart Hurricanes and a One-day Cup for Tasmania. He was well known for becoming the first Australian player to participate in a Pakistani league when he joined Southern Punjab. However, with this insidious crime, the cricketer has eventually brought a complete full stop to his cricketing career.
