Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam has got engaged to his paternal cousin. This came as a surprise to everyone as the 26-year-old cricketer who is in UAE and gearing up for the remaining fixtures to be played at the PSL. Azam is currently under quarantine and it is said that the right-arm batsman had got engaged before only and will tie the knots in the next year.
Babar, who represents Karachi Kings in PSL, will be looking forward to carrying out well in the reaming games of the league. 20 games are to be played in the second phase of the PSL and the league is likely to resume on the ninth of June and the schedule is yet to be announced.
Babar Azam, who’s known to the world for his batting heroics had kept his engagement news as top-secret. However, if we are to believe the ‘Geo News Urdu’, it is said, all his teammates knew about Babar’s engagement with his cousin.
Recently Babar’s teammate and Pakistan cricketer Azar Ali had done an interaction session on his Twitter handle. One of Ali’s fans asked him to say something to his captain. In response, Ali asked Babar to get married. “Shadi kar lay (get married),” was his response and suggestion for his captain.

Babar Azam, who is the captain for the Pakistan side in all three formats, will have a packed schedule ahead as the Pakistan side will be cricketing in many of the planned fixtures. Once PSL is done, he will have to fly to England on 22 June. After the England tour, Pakistan will be facing the Kiwis at home or in the UAE and Afghanistan in the UAE.
On top of all these, Pakistan will also have to gear up for the T20 World Cup which will be held in India or in the UAE during October-November. Hence, it’s a pivotal cricketing year for the Pakistan Captain.
