BCCI forms a sub-committee to look into functioning Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association

On Wednesday, June 16, Indian cricket’s top most administrative body The Board of Cricket Control in Indian announced a sub-committee that was formed to look into the functioning of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association

According to BCCI, the newly formed sub-committee will comprise of Anil Gupta, Mithun Manhas, and Sunil Sethi. Further, Majid Dar will look into the development of cricket at Srinagar and will report to the sub-committee members.

The sub-committee will also keep an eye on the daily happenings of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association and the particular committee will work under the direction and control of its senior committee named by the Board Control of Cricket Control in India.

Earlier, the board, in compliance with the judgment passed by the Hon’ble Division Bench of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir, had formed a Committee over Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA).

The committee comprises of Sourav (President, BCCI), Jay Shah (Secretary, BCCI), Arun Dhumal (Treasurer, BCCI), and Rajeev Shukla (Honorary Vice-President, BCCI).

Jammu and Kashmir side yet to receive their remuneration from the BCCI

‘India Shorts’ had earlier reported that, during the 2019-2020 Indian domestic season, the cricketing body had made the news that the entire Jammu and Kashmir side including Irfan Pathan, who was their mentor, were yet to receive their remuneration.  Sunil Sethi who spoke on this, stated: “We’ll look into that after we take charge after 2-3 days. No one would be denied their dues.”
