As BCCI is eagerly waiting to stage the remaining matches of the 14th season of the IPL 2021. BCCI requested England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to prepone the beginning of the five-test series by a week to complete the remaining of the Indian domestic league.

In response, ECB explained that fans have already bought tickets for the India-England tour so this will be very problematic to change the schedule of the series. As the Indian men’s cricket team is set for the long tour of England, the team not only will play the ICC World Test Championship final against New Zealand but also a five-match Test series against England. Test series against England will be starting on August 4 in Nottingham with the final match to be held in Manchester from September 10.

After the emergence of many COVID-19 cases among the players inside IPL bio-secure bubbles, BCCI suspended the tournament indefinitely. There have been 29 matches played so far and BCCI is still seeking a window for the rest.
