
Actor Bobby Deol, known for playing villains in Aashram and Animal, wants to explore new roles. Although he enjoys playing negative characters, he does not want to be typecast.In an interview with PTI, Deol thanked filmmaker Prakash Jha for changing how people see him through his role as Baba Nirala in Aashram.The show recently returned with the second part of its third season.
“It changed my life. People started seeing me in a new way. But now, I am again being offered similar roles, and I want to break that image,” he said. Deol has also played villains in Race 3, Love Hostel, and the upcoming Kanguva. While he finds these roles challenging, he wants to try different kinds of characters.
“There is always a fear about how people will react to your work. But when they like it, it feels amazing,” he shared.He also spoke about the Lord Bobby trend, where fans jokingly call him a “lord” to celebrate his work.
“They show me love, and it’s sweet of them to call me that. It started as a joke but became something positive,” he said, thanking his fans for their support.
Deol also praised OTT platforms for giving actors new opportunities to show their talent.
This year, Deol celebrates 30 years in the film industry. He made his debut in 1995 with the film Barsaat. Looking back, he said it was not easy to step out of his comfort zone, but the love from fans motivates him.
