Since its February 14 release, Captain America: Brave New World from Marvel Studios has had a lacklustre run in India, failing to generate much interest due to a number of obstacles.
Thanks to the weekend push, the movie is predicted to earn between Rs 1.00 and Rs 1.20 crore on its ninth day, which is a significant increase over yesterday’s earnings of Rs 80 lakh. This jump, meanwhile, doesn’t significantly alter the movie’s generally lacklustre box office result.
The absence of Chris Evans, whose star power was essential in the earlier Captain America films, has been a key contributing factor to the film’s poor response. Long-time fans are worried because Anthony Mackie’s move into the title role has not sparked the same amount of excitement.
Additionally, recent Marvel releases have failed to create the same hype as their predecessors, suggesting that audiences have grown weary of superheroes. Captain America 4 faces additional difficulties due to fierce competition from Chhaava, a regional historical drama with a patriotic theme that has struck a deep chord with Indian viewers.
The film honours the bravery of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the warrior son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and stars Vicky Kaushal in the protagonist role and Akshaye Khanna as the frightening Aurangzeb. It has overshadowed the release of the Marvel movie, especially in Maharashtra and the surrounding areas, by drawing audiences who prefer domestic entertainment with a deep emotional connection.
