Afghanistan lost two wickets in a span of just 5 balls as Jofra Archer took his second wicket after dismissing Sediqullah Atal for a score of 4 runs. Atal came to bat in the fifth over after Gurbaz was dismissed on the first ball of the same over. However, he could not create much impact as he tried to flick the ball but was lbw.
On-field umpire Joel Wilson gave him out but Atal still sent the decision upstairs to the third umpire. A bit of confusion appeared as to whether it was bat first or pad first but the UltraEdge showed no sign of the ball touching the bat first, the ball tracker confirmed the decision with three reds.
At the end of 6 overs Afghanistan’s scoreboard stood at 21/2. Afghanistan batters will need to show resilience in order to put a decent total on the board.
