Cyclone Dana Update: Complete list of cancelled trains and Airport updates

Cyclone Dana is expected to cross the shores of Odisha and West Bengal on October 25, prompting state administrations, trains, and airports to implement a variety of safety precautions. The railway has already cancelled almost 300 trains.

Here’s a list of few cancelled trains:

1) Train No. 06087 from Tirunelveli Junction – Shalimar Special scheduled to leave Tirunelveli on October 24

2) Bhubaneswar – Rameswaram Superfast Express scheduled to leave Bhubaneswar on October 25.

3) Train no. 12830 from Bhubaneswar to Dr MGR Chennai Central Superfast Express, scheduled to leave Bhubaneswar at 12.10 am on October 24 is fully cancelled

4) Train no. 12829 from Dr MGR Chennai Central to Bhubaneswar Superfast Express, scheduled to leave Dr MGR Chennai Central at 10 hrs on October 25 is fully cancelled

5) Train no. 22888 SMVT Bengaluru – Howrah Express (via Katpadi), scheduled to leave SMVT Bengaluru at 10.15 am on October 24 is fully cancelled. Train no. 22888 (Oct 23) will run as per schedule

6) Train no. 22644 Patna – Ernakulam Express which was to commence on October 24.

7) Train no. 12552 – Kamakya – SMVB Bengaluru Expressch was on October 24.

8) Train no. 22503 – Kanniyakumari – Dibrugarah Express commencing today

9) Train no. 3430 – Malda Town – Secunderabad Express special, which was scheduled for October 29.

The East Coast Railway has also established a crisis management cell that operates around the clock at both its headquarters in Rail Sadan and divisional offices. Here’s a list of cancel trains shared by them on X.

Although officials at the Kolkata airport have stated that safety measures would be implemented based on how the atmosphere changes, combat activities at other airports remain undisturbed as of right now. According to officials, the airport may remain closed for a few hours if the cyclone does not damage it. Cyclone Remal caused the Kolkata airport to close for 21 hours in May of this year as well. About 200 planes were diverted and 400 flights were cancelled as a result.
