In Deva, Shahid plays ACP Dev Ambre, a womaniser and hot-headed police officer who loses his memory while attempting to unravel the mystery behind his friend’s murder. Although the movie is a remake of Rosshan’s 2013 film Mumbai Police, significant alterations were made to the script to alter the plot, especially towards the end.

Pooja portrays a journalist called Diya Sathaye, Dev’s love interest. Both critics and viewers gave the movie mixed reviews, however Shahid’s performance was commended.
