Showrunner Adi Shankar is back with another eagerly awaited animated series based on the Capcom video game series, “Devil May Cry,” in the wake of the success of “Castlevania.” The animation project was initially revealed in 2018, and season one would ultimately begin production the following year.

The narrative and screenplays will be written by writer Alex Larsen. The majority of Larsen’s work may be seen on the Yasuke anime episodes available on Netflix. This forthcoming “Devil May Cry” animated series is not a sequel to the Studio Madhouse 12-episode DMC anime series that debuted back in 2007.

We’re referring to Shankar’s brand-new animated series. In 2018, Shankar purchased the DMC IP’s animation rights. Here is some preliminary information on season 2 of Adi Shankar’s “Devil May Cry,” along with release date forecasts and other information.

Devil May Cry Season 2 Renewal Status

Season 2 of Devil May Cry has already been renewed.

Long before the first season of the anime began production, the confirmation was made. Adi Shankar, the showrunner, has previously announced plans to turn the relaunch into a “multi-season narrative.”

Eight episodes make up the first season, hence the anime’s second season will start with episode nine.

Shankar will collaborate closely with Capcom producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi, who worked on “Devil May Cry” 4, the 2007 anime adaptation, and the original video game. Kobayashi also contributed to the “Resident Evil” series of video games and anime.

Devil May Cry Season 2 Plot

The season 2 storyline for “Devil May Cry” is currently a secret. Even the first season’s production has not yet begun. Therefore, it is impossible to foresee where the season 2 plot will go.

“Devil May Cry” “will join Castlevania in what we’re now calling the bootleg multiverse,” according to Shankar.

Devil May Cry Season 2 Episodes

There will be eight episodes in the anime adaptation of “Devil May Cry.” The number of episodes for season 2 is probably going to be the same.

Devil May Cry Season 2 Trailer

No, as of yet. It will be some time before we see the official trailer for season 2 of “Devil May Cry,” considering the first season hasn’t even begun production yet. But do not be concerned. Future developments will be carefully awaited by us here.

Devil May Cry Season 2 Release Date

The first and second seasons of the animated television series “Devil May Cry” have still not been given a release date. In November 2021, Shankar informed IGN that the first season’s screenplay had been completed.

“The season 1 scripts are done,” Shankar told IGN. “They are rad. I could not be more excited.”

The report said that the anime’s first season’s filming will start in 2022. That suggests that season 1 may not debut until the end of that year or the beginning of 2023. ‘Castlevania,’ Shankar’s other animated Netflix production, typically waits a year before releasing fresh seasons. Season 2 of “Devil May Cry” might be out in 2023 or 2024 if the production timeline remains the same.

“The entire team, both from the management side and the creative side, have been so incredibly supportive and gracious. Kobayashi-san has been wonderful,” Shankar told IGN. “It’s seriously a joy to work with Capcom. Their character library is unlike anything assembled.”
