Dhurandhar The Revenge box office: Ranveer Singh’s film beats Pathaan & Saiyaara, becomes no.1 in UK

Dhurandhar: The Revenge made GBP 5.2K on its fifth Tuesday in the UK, bringing its total box office receipts to GBP 4.388 million. As a result, the Ranveer Singh picture has surpassed Pathaan to become the highest-grossing Indian movie ever made in the nation.

In Canada and Australia, Dhurandhar: The Revenge was already the highest-grossing Indian movie. It is ranked first among Hindi films and second in the US, behind Baahubali: The Conclusion. With the exception of the UAE-GCC, where it was not released, the movie is currently the top Bollywood film in all significant overseas markets.

Even the first Dhurandhar was the highest grossing film in the US, Canada, and Australia, but it failed in the UK, placing fourth behind Pathaan, Saiyaara, and Jawan. In the previous three instances, the record was set early in the second week, but this time it has also occurred near the end of its run. The fact that Pathaan set a record in the UK at a larger scale than in the other markets is somewhat to blame. The second reason was that the Pakistani diaspora makes up a sizable section of the Hindi film audience in the UK, and given the patriotic themes of these films, their patronage would often be minimal.

However, the fact that it was based on the Pakistani underground and was set in Pakistan had sparked a lot of interest, which undoubtedly helped it in some way. However, that assistance was likely limited because the sequel was a little more overtly patriotic. In any case, the franchise has now completely swept through key markets with the release of the sequel.
