‘When Evil Lurks’, the newest film from Terrified filmmaker Demián Rugna, will be released in theatres and on streaming services on the dates provided by Shudder and IFC Films.
It was the second time that Rugna and Shudder, the genre-focused streaming service from AMC Network, have worked together. Deadline was the first to report the news.
Storyline
When Evil Lurks recounts the tale of two brothers who stumble upon a dismembered body close to their house. In an effort to identify its origin, they choose to enlist the assistance of their neighbours. They soon discover that this and other strange occurrences in their community are the result of a ghost that has taken up residence in a local man while he awaits the correct procedures to purge his body of the festering demon. The film puts its characters on edge as they make an attempt to escape the spirit’s tenacious grasp while evading approaching peril.
When Evil Lurks Release Date
According to Shudder and IFC, When Evil Lurks will premiere in theatres on October 6, 2023, and on Shudder on October 27, 2023. The forthcoming Midnight Madness portion of the Toronto International Film Festival will serve as the film’s world premiere.
Terrified, Rugna’s previous film, was well-received by the horror media when it came out in 2017. In the film, a police commissioner and three experts in paranormal phenomena look into strange things happening in the Buenos Aires suburbs. A Guillermo Del Toro-produced remake has been overdue.
