Faf Du Plessis hospitalized after meeting a nasty collision during a PSL game against Peshawar Zalmi

Former South Africa captain Faf Du Plessis met with a nasty collision while playing for the Quetta Gladiators against Peshawar in the Pakistan Super League at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Saturday.

Du Plessis who dived to stop a boundary During the 7th over of Peshawar Zalmi’s innings collided with Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Hasnain due to which Faf’s head hit Hasnain’s knee and the South Africa cricketer fell on the ground.

According to Pakistan media reports, Du Plessis has been shifted to a hospital for scans.  The cricketer was seen sitting in the Quetta Gladiators dugout after the collision and the impact on his neck could be seen in the photo. Faf du Plessis had joined Quetta Gladiators for the PSL 2021 season which resumed on June 9 in the UAE after being suspended due to positive Covid-19 tests in the bio-bubbles when the tournament was being played in Pakistan in March.

After the South African left the field, Saim Ayub was named as the concussion substitute. This was the second time Quetta Gladiators used a concussion Substitute for the Quetta Gladiators.  Gladiators had used a Concussion substitute in the previous match after West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell was hit on the helmet by Mohammad Musa with a quick bouncer.
