Inter Milan have made an unexpected approach to sign Juventus’ Juan Cuadrado on a free transfer this summer.
The Colombian’s contract with the Bianconeri expires this summer and no renewal negotiations have taken place, leaving Cuadrado open in the market.
His situation with Juventus drew the interest of rivals AC Milan and Inter Milan.
However, there is still a chance that he may renew his contract with his present club, though talks have been stalled for some time. Furthermore, the club’s financial issues with the courts might hinder the operation.
Cuadrado has been a regular player for Juventus during all of their managerial changes, appearing in 314 games and winning 5 consecutive Serie A titles from 2015/16 to 2019/20.
Cuadrado might have his medical tests on Tuesday and according to Alfredo Pedulla, he will earn €2.5 million per year plus bonuses.
Despite his age, the 35-year-old may bring essential experience for Inter and will be battling with Denzel Dumfries for the right-wing back position following the exit of Raoul Bellanova.
Matteo Darmian will most likely be a right-sided defender in a back three. As a result, the Nerazzurri have been pursuing another player who can back up and provide competition for Dumfries.
This summer, Dumfries has again been linked with an exit, but the interest from suitors appears to have cooled off.
