Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL) has announced a global initiative, ‘WomenAlly: Allies in Action’, in celebration of International Women’s Day 2025. The month-long campaign spans Asia, Africa, and Latin America, recognizing individuals who champion inclusivity, advocate for fairness, and foster a more supportive workplace for women.
GCPL is reinforcing its commitment through four key initiatives: a docu-film on breaking gender barriers in sales, panel discussions on allyship at manufacturing sites, a ‘WomenAlly’ event at Godrej One in Mumbai, and a family outreach program to acknowledge the contributions of women in sales—a traditionally male-dominated space in the FMCG sector.
The company will also outline the next phase of its flagship programs, Godrej ki Shakti (encouraging women’s participation in manufacturing roles) and Aarambh (empowering women in sales). Commenting on these initiatives, Vaibhav Ram, Global Head – Human Resources at GCPL, emphasized how the company’s allyship efforts align with the United Nations’ pillars of Rights, Equality, and Empowerment. He highlighted the role of allies in challenging biases, fostering inclusion, and ensuring that women in manufacturing and sales feel valued and empowered.
GCPL is set to release a documentary showcasing the journeys of its women employees in sales, detailing the challenges they faced, how they overcame them, and the crucial role of allyship in enabling their success. The company will also host the Shakti Summit, a two-day event at its Mumbai headquarters, marking a milestone for its Manufacturing Employee Resource Group (ERG). The summit will include panel discussions, personal branding sessions, and wellness initiatives to reinforce GCPL’s commitment to inclusion.
Beyond these celebrations, Godrej Industries Group (GIG) continues to support employees with progressive workplace policies, including six months of paid leave for primary caregivers, elder care support, flexible return-to-work options, and daycare support. These policies reflect GCPL’s long-term commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace.
