Hanuman Vihari created a team of 100 volunteers to offer help during COVID-19 pandemic in India

I don’t want to glorify myself. I am doing it with the intention of helping people at the ground level, who actually need every help possible in these difficult times, says Hanuman Vihari

Hanuman Vihari, the 27-year-old champ has been seeking satisfaction by offering help during the COVID-19 pandemic in India by providing his networks and by creating a team of hundred volunteers. He has been actively helping people who are in need of hospital beds or oxygen concentrators through his network of friends and volunteers.

“I don’t want to glorify myself – I am doing it with the intention of helping people at the ground level, who actually need every help possible in these difficult times. It is just the start,” Vihari stated as saying Press Trust of India (PTI). 

Vihari was ruled out of the last and during India’s most historic win at Gabba, Brisbane during India’s tour to Australia because of a severe hamstring. However, the young gun has recovered completely has been selected in the 20 men squad for the World Test Championship finals followed by five Test matches against England.

However, Vihari left for the UK in early April and will Join the Indian squad by their arrival on June 3. He is currently playing a County Championship playing for the Warwickshire in England.

As the COVID-19 second wave hit India and people were in real need of help, Vihari started contacting his friend and followers to create a team of 100 people and more to reach out to help the common and people in distress need. The formed team even consists of Vihari’s family members as well as his teammates from Andra Pradesh like Prithviraj Yarra.

“I have around 100 people on a WhatsApp group as volunteers and it’s their hard work that we have been able to help a few people,” Vihari explained.

“Yes, I am a cricketer, well known but I am able to help because of their untiring efforts to reach the distressed. Even my wife, sister and a few of my Andhra teammates are part of my volunteer team. It’s so heartening to see their support.” Hanuman Vihari stated.
