Happy Birthday to the Jamaican all-rounder Andre Russell

Andre Russell the man behind KKR’s success for the past few years was born on 29th April 1988, at Kingston, Jamaica. The big man from Jamaica turns 33 this year. He is currently plays for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL. The West Indian all-rounder made his debut as a test cricketer in November 15th, 2010 in a match against Sri Lanka. He was back then a fast bowling all-rounder rather a batting all-rounder. He made his ODI debut happened in the 2011 Cricket World Cup against Ireland, in Mohali.

Before making his test debut in 2010, he used to play at Barnards Green Cricket Club in Worcestershire, England. He has now played over 300 T20 matches for different franchises in worldwide leagues.

Russell scored a century of 40 balls in the 2018 Caribbean Premier League and took a hat-trick in the same match, he became the second player to score a century and take hat-trick in the same match. He became the fastest batsman, to score 1,000 run in ODIs, by facing only 767 deliveries.
He was named the Man of Tournament in the T20 World Cup 2016 and got selected for T20 XI for that year.

On 13th April 2021, he took his career best figures of 5/15 off just two overs in a match against Mumbai Indians during the 2021 Indian Premier League. In April 2021, he was signed by Quetta Gladiators to play in the rescheduled matches of 2021 Pakistan Super League.

In 2016 Russell committed “anti-doping whereabouts” after missing three test in the span of 12 months. In 2017 he was banned from cricket for an year.

On 2016 he married his long time girlfriend Jassym Lora and recently had a baby girl in 2019.
