After a positive start in the first ODI Indian team has received good news ahead of their second ODI against Sri Lanka as Wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson has recovered from his knee injury. Sanju Samson missed out first ODI against Sri Lanka due to a sprain in his ligament.
The MP for Thiruvananthapuram Shashi Tharoor posted news over his social media account and confirmed that Sanju Samson has recovered and is available for the second ODI He captioned the post;
“Delighted to hear from Sri Lanka that Sanju Samson has recovered from his strained knee ligament and that Thiruvananthapuram’s finest will again be available for India! All the best, Sanju!”
In the first ODI game against Sri Lanka, many fans were surprised when the name of Sanju Samson was missing from the Indian cricket team playing XI. However, it was soon learned that the 26-year-old had been struggling with a knee injury before the first game of the series.
Sanju Samson was expected to make his ODI debut last Sunday at the R Premadasa Stadium. but due to a knee injury his missed to grab the chance and in his absence, young cricketer Ishan Kishan received his maiden ODI cap. He batted well and impressed fans by smashing a half-century on his ODI debut.
