India vs New Zealand T20I series: Kane Williamson to miss all 3 matches

Kane Williamson is prioritising his preparations for the test series that will be played after the T20I series and hence will skip the series against India.

The T20 International series against India will be beginning on November 17th in Jaipur. As per the latest reports in ANI, The New Zealand captain Kane Williamson will not be participating in it. Kane will take a break to prepare for the 2 Tests that will be played after the T20I series.

“Blackcaps captain Kane Williamson will miss this week’s three-game T20 series against India as he prioritises preparing for the Test series starting on November 25 in Kanpur,” New Zealand Cricket (NZC) read the tweet by ANI.

Another reason for Kane Willamson not playing is his elbow injury during the T20 World Cup. The wound flared up during the warm-ups of the T20 World Cup.

Tim Southee will captain the T20 side for the opening game on Wednesday in Williamson’s absence.

After competing against Australia in the ICC T20 World Cup final held in Dubai, the New Zealand team arrived in Jaipur on Monday evening ahead of the GJ Gardner Homes Tour of India.

Lockie Ferguson’s comeback from a right calf strain proceeds to progress reasonably and he is anticipated to be available for the T20 series.
