India’s Got Latent Controversy: Police Denies Samay Raina’s Plea for New Date

According to ANI, comedian Samay Raina suffered a new setback on Thursday when the Maharashtra Cyber Cell denied his request for a new date to participate in their probe into the “India’s Got Latent” controversy. He has been asked by the police to show up by February 17.

The cyber cell was notified by Samay Raina’s attorney the day before that the well-known YouTuber is currently in the US for a run of events and will be back in India by March 17. Ranveer Allahabadia, also known as BeerBicepsGuy, and Raina are embroiled in legal trouble after a question Allahabadia asked a contestant on India’s Got Latent.

The question posed to the candidate was whether he would “stop it forever” by participating in his parents’ sexual activity once or if he would see it for the rest of his life. The comedians were sued in distant Assam and Maharashtra, where the majority of them live, when a huge outcry erupted after the remark was made public.

The matter was also brought to the attention of lawmakers during the current Budget session. Ranveer Allahabadia expressed regret, stating that comedy was not his strong suit. In addition to expressing regret, Samay Raina announced on Wednesday that he was removing all of the India’s Got Latent footage from his YouTube channel.

Comedians Jaspreet Singh, Apoorva Mukhija, and Ashish Chanchlani are also under fire. Over 40 people have been called by the Maharashtra Cyber Cell to participate in the investigation into the matter. Judges and contestants from the show’s earlier episodes are among those called.
