India’s Got Latent Controversy: Ranveer Allahbadia, Apoorva Mukhija Summoned by NCW

According to PTI, social media influencer Apoorva Mukhija and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia made an appearance before the National Commission for Women on Thursday in relation to the scandal surrounding comedian Samay Raina’s show “India’s Got Latent.”

In addition to the two, the news agency reported sources that said the panel was attended by the show’s producers, Saurabh Bothra and Tushar Poojari, as well as the attorneys for comedian Jaspreet Singh and YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani.

In addition to Poojari and Bothra, the commission summoned Allahbadia, Makhija, Raina, Jaspreet Singh, and Ashish Chanchlani after taking significant notice of their abusive and filthy comments on the broadcast. Popular on YouTube thanks to his “BeerBiceps” channel, Ranveer Allahbadia became embroiled in a significant controversy when he made comments about parents and sex on comedian Samay Raina’s now-deleted “India’s Got Latent” YouTube program.

Both prominent personalities and internet users strongly reacted negatively to Allhabadia’s comments. In Assam and Mumbai, respectively, at least two formal complaints have been filed against Allahbadia and Raina.

Ranveer Allahbadia apologised publicly on February 10th, acknowledging his “lack of judgement” when he made the joke. Along with saying that the recent incidents have “been a bit too much for him to handle,” Samay Raina also removed every episode of his show from his YouTube page and promised to assist with any investigations.

Ranveer Allahbadia was given permission by the Supreme Court earlier this week to start posting his podcasts and shows on social media again. However, the court mandated that he provide a pledge that his podcast, “The Ranveer Show,” will uphold “morality and decency” and be appropriate for listeners of all ages.

Allahbadia’s argument that the podcast was his sole source of income and that the show was essential to the 280 people he employed was noted by a bench of Justices Surya Kant and N Kotiswar Singh.
