In IPL 2020 Axar Patel played a key role helping his team Delhi Capitals to reach to the finals. The wickets which he took in the previous IPL edition was only nine in 15 matches but he tried to maintain a good economy rate of just 6.41 runs per over which created a pressure on opposition.
However IPL 2021 didn’t have a very positive start for Delhi Capitals all-rounder Axar Patel as he had tested positive for COVID-19 virus earlier this month. On March 28 he was checked in into Mumbai hotel with a negative report but his second test result came out as positive. He was isolated at a medical care facility and missed first four matches of the league.
However the all rounder has finally joined the squad back after recovering from COVID-19. Delhi Capitals official twitter handle welcomed him on the field, they wrote, “That smile tells a story, Welcome back to the field, Axar”
